About the Treatment

About skin booster injections

Skin boosters are microinjections of hydrating, skin-conditioning ingredients distributed evenly across an area of skin — face, neck, hands, or décolletage. Unlike dermal fillers, which add volume and shape to specific areas, skin boosters are about quality: deep hydration, improved elasticity, and the luminous appearance that comes from well-hydrated dermal tissue.

Skin boosters work below the surface, where moisturisers and serums cannot reach. Depending on the formulation chosen, they deliver hydrating and skin-conditioning ingredients — often hyaluronic acid, sometimes combined with other actives — that support overall skin health, improve both active and passive hydration, and help stimulate the skin's own (endogenous) hyaluronic acid. The result is hydration and quality from within, not on the surface.

At Vincere, the technique matters as much as the product. The microinjections are placed by hand or with a precision delivery system, with depth and spacing calibrated to each patient by Dr. Vincent for even distribution across the treatment area. The goal is subtle, ongoing skin quality improvement — not a dramatic change after a single session, but cumulative improvement that becomes visible over a series.

Common concerns addressed

Persistent skin dryness

When topical moisturisers no longer feel adequate, particularly in the cheek and lower face areas where dehydration becomes visible first.

Loss of skin luminosity

Skin that appears dull or matte rather than luminous, often due to declining hydration in the deeper dermal layers.

Fine lines from dehydration

Lines that appear or worsen when skin is dehydrated — distinct from expression lines or volume-loss creases.

Skin quality maintenance in 30s and 40s

For clients wanting to support skin hydration and elasticity proactively, before significant quality changes develop.

Neck, hands, and décolletage

Areas where surface skincare is often inadequate. Skin boosters address dehydration in these often-neglected zones.

Complement to other treatments

Often used alongside laser, microneedling, or other treatments to support hydration during the recovery phase.

Your Journey

Your treatment journey

01

Skin assessment

20 min
Dr. Vincent examines your skin hydration levels, quality concerns, and goals. The treatment area, injection technique, and series plan are then tailored to your specific needs.
02

Skin preparation

20–30 min
Topical numbing is applied across the treatment area and given 20–30 minutes to take effect. The skin is then cleansed and marked according to the injection grid plan.
03

Microinjections

15–25 min
Small volumes of the skin booster solution are placed evenly across the area — by hand or with a precision delivery system. The pattern ensures consistent distribution rather than concentrated placement.
04

Aftercare & series planning

5 min
Tiny raised bumps at the injection points are normal and settle within 24 hours. Skincare guidance is provided. A series of 2 to 3 sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart is the typical starting protocol.
Why Vincere

Why choose Vincere

Dr. Vincent brings extensive experience across the full spectrum of injectable techniques — from structural fillers to delicate skin booster placement. The techniques are different in important ways: skin boosters require even, distributed placement at the right depth, with consistency across the entire treatment area being more important than any single injection point.

As a faculty member at the Allergan Medical Institute, his injection technique training extends across the range of injectable products and goals. The skill in skin booster work is in the uniformity of placement — making the entire treatment area benefit equally, with no patchy areas of better or worse hydration.

Skin boosters work best as part of a maintained protocol, not a one-off treatment. Most clients see meaningful change after their second or third session and continue with periodic top-ups. The cumulative effect is what produces the luminous, well-hydrated skin quality that defines a good outcome.

Dermal fillers add volume and shape to specific areas — cheeks, lips, jawline, under-eyes. Skin boosters distribute hyaluronic acid evenly across an area to improve overall skin quality, hydration, and elasticity. Fillers change shape; skin boosters change quality. They serve different purposes and are often used together as part of a comprehensive skin and structure approach.
Skin booster injections typically follow a starting protocol of 2 to 3 sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance sessions every 4 to 6 months. Some clients see meaningful change after the first session; for most, the cumulative effect across the series is what produces the luminous, well-hydrated quality that defines a good outcome.
Skin hydration is often noticeable within days — the skin feels plumper, more supple, and looks more rested. The full effect develops over 2 to 4 weeks as the hyaluronic acid integrates into the dermis. Cumulative improvement continues across a series.
Skin booster injections are well-tolerated. Topical numbing is applied before injection, and the needles used are very fine. Most clients describe the sensation as small pinches at each injection point — uncomfortable but quick and well-tolerated. The micro-cannula technique used in some areas reduces sensation further.
Skin booster downtime is minimal. Tiny raised bumps at the injection points are normal and settle within 24 hours. Some clients experience minor bruising at injection points that resolves in a few days. Most return to normal activities the same day; some prefer to schedule on a Friday if they want the bumps to settle before social plans.
Not in shape — that is what fillers do. Skin boosters change skin quality: more hydrated, more luminous, slightly plumper across the entire treatment area. Friends typically notice that you look refreshed or well-rested, not that your face has changed.
Yes — skin boosters are often used alongside other treatments. After laser or microneedling, they support hydration during recovery. Alongside fillers, they improve overall skin quality while fillers address shape. Dr. Vincent will discuss how skin boosters fit into your broader treatment plan at consultation.
