What you came here wondering

Concern 01

Why are acne scars so hard to treat?

Different scar types — boxcar, rolling, ice-pick — have different anatomy. One device rarely treats all of them well. The plan matters more than the machine.

Concern 02

Will my acne scars ever fully go away?

Most acne scars improve dramatically with the right protocol, but few are completely erased. Realistic expectation: 60–80% improvement over 4–6 sessions — not 100% in one visit.

Concern 03

Can I treat scars while I still have active acne?

Active acne should be controlled before scar treatment begins — otherwise new scars form even as old ones improve. We coordinate with your dermatologist if needed.

Why Vincere

Why Vincere for acne scars

Acne scar work rewards patience, anatomy knowledge, and willingness to combine modalities. Single-device clinics often deliver disappointing results because they’re using one tool for every problem.

01
Multi-
Modal approach

We combine pico laser, RF microneedling, and polynucleotide therapy in tailored protocols. Different scars need different tools — and often the same scar needs more than one.

02
AMI
Faculty trainer & mentor

Dr Vincent trains other physicians in injectable and energy device technique as faculty of the Allergan Medical Institute. Acne scar work draws on the same precision.

03
Honest
Treatment plans

We tell patients honestly what each session can and can’t deliver, and we set realistic expectations on timeline. Acne scar work is a project, not a one-visit fix.

Common questions

Still unsure which treatment is right for you? Message Dr Vincent — he's happy to walk through the options with you personally.

There is no single “best” acne scar treatment in Singapore — an effective protocol combines several. At Vincere, Dr Vincent typically uses a multi-modal approach: RF microneedling for boxcar and rolling scars, polynucleotide injections to support skin regeneration, and pico laser for post-acne marks and pigmentation. The right combination depends on which scar types you have. The plan is built at consultation after careful assessment.
Most patients see early improvement after 2–3 sessions, with significant change over a course of 4–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Skin remodelling continues for several months after the final session, so the visible result at month 12 is often noticeably better than at month 6.
Downtime varies by treatment. Pico laser typically has minimal downtime — mild redness for a few hours. RF microneedling produces pinpoint marks and mild swelling for 24–48 hours. A combined session may have slightly more downtime. Most patients are socially presentable within 1–2 days.
It can, if the wrong device or settings are used — Asian skin is prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation when over-treated. At Vincere we calibrate carefully for skin type, err on the side of conservative settings, and use adjunct treatments to support skin recovery. Most patients complete a full protocol without significant pigment changes.
We apply topical numbing cream 30–45 minutes before each session. Pico laser feels like brief warm pinpricks. RF microneedling feels like firm pressure with brief sharp sensations. Most patients describe the experience as tolerable. Discomfort doesn’t persist beyond the session itself.
Active acne should be reasonably well controlled before scar treatment begins — otherwise new scars can form even as old ones improve. If you have ongoing active acne, Dr Vincent will discuss a sequenced approach that addresses inflammation first. Coordinating with a dermatologist on stubborn cases is sometimes the right answer.
